IGNATIUS HATS 204 South Market Street Petersburg, VA 23803 Ignatius Creegan and Rod Givens are the milliners of Ignatius Hats. In our Spring/Summer line each hat is made from a bundle of wheat straw, raffia or synthetic braid. The plait is sewn with a special machine designed for the job. Working with a specific style in mind the straw is sewn starting at the top of the crown and continued in concentric circles. In our Fall/Winter line hats are made from sewn strips of felt, blocked felt, and fine designer wools. The combination of method, materials, shape and decoration are what make our hats reminiscent of times past, while still being wearable and contemporary. We do not have a mail order business. Many of our hats are one-of-a-kind creations. You may find us at the fine art and craft shows listed on the home page or call us if you are planning on being in the Petersburg, VA area.
